Efficiency and Uniqueness in Production

Summary

Idromeccanica Lucchini’s production phases are the result of years of experience and continuous improvements in planning and optimizing logistics and the processing of plastic, metal, and electronic materials. Every greenhouse or system built by Idromeccanica Lucchini follows rigorous protocols and an optimized, rational workflow. The extremely high production standards also take into account the uniqueness of each individual system which, being built to customer specifications, requires carefully studied and exclusive solutions.

From Design to Implementation

Once the greenhouse design phase is completed, Idromeccanica Lucchini’s technical office issues a detailed note to the production departments indicating the parts to be built, the specific list of materials, and construction and installation times. The project is studied and broken down, and each department (welding, calendering, cutting of headers and covers, etc.) is informed of the subsequent processing steps from raw material orders to component construction. Each greenhouse system is unique, so every order involves specific material orders and different, one-of-a-kind processes. The processing coordinator monitors each step from the delivery of the note to the finished product that will then be assembled on site. Each step undergoes rigorous quality and timing control.

“Artisanal” and “Tailor-Made” Products

Idromeccanica Lucchini produces greenhouses and systems that are distributed worldwide for various sectors: from floriculture to vegetable production, from small private facilities to large companies, from Italy to the Caucasus highlands. This requires adapting production to the needs of crops, climate, terrain challenges, and specific customer requirements. Consequently, metal materials are shaped differently depending on the type of greenhouse, from private to large-scale industrial facilities. Much of the processing is therefore done manually, as automation cannot replace experience. All this is accomplished while respecting project timelines and specifications.

Cutting-edge Automation and Logistics

To ensure extreme precision and efficiency, Idromeccanica Lucchini uses computerized systems for molding and welding processes. This allows the company to create perfect, stable, and long-lasting supporting structures.

In recent years, with growing orders and company expansion, Idromeccanica Lucchini has implemented internal logistics improvements, both in the storage of incoming materials and raw materials, as well as completed products ready for delivery. For rational logistics, new and spacious areas have been created, and protocols for tracking each processing phase have been established. Everything is stored strategically so materials can be handled and sorted quickly and efficiently.
