Many challenges and many solutions

Idromeccanica Lucchini intervened in Valdengo, the municipality of Biella, to meet the specific needs of VIvai Lanari, specialized in floriculture for wholesale both domestic and foreign.
The company, which mainly cultivates photinie, prunus laurocerasus, cornus, Japanese maples, evergreen shrubs, has recently suffered a violent hailstorm that has compromised most of the crops. This is why the Company Lanari has decided to use the technology and knowledge of Idromeccanica Lucchini, to protect itself from this harmful atmospheric agent.

A consistent evolution
Vivai Lanari had previously a relatively simple structure, protected by normal anti-hail nets, but the new business needs and the problems encountered in the past have led the company to expand its facilities with eight greenhouses more resistant. Analyzed the customer needs, Idromeccanica Lucchini has supplied greenhouses ATLANTIC RU of 10 x m 27 straight wall with gothic structure resistant to snow capable of bearing the load of heavy hail

The demands of local institutions
The Province of Biella and the City of Valdengo have asked Vivai Lanari to adopt measures to combat the spread of popillia japonica: an annoying insect harmful to fruit and ornamental plants. To meet this request, Idromeccanica Lucchini has "reinforced" the greenhouses ATLANTIC RU with green nets Libeccio 30 thin mesh capable of blocking the parasite. Moreover, the net, being particularly resistant, is also ideal for protection against hail. The Libeccio 30 was placed on the sides, on the roof and on the fronts, while the crescent and side plinths are covered in transparent polycarbonate 8.0 mm. The greenhouse is accessible thanks to a double sliding door of 1.50 m + m1.50* h m 2.50.

The demands of the agronomist
In addition to the anti-hail and anti-insect action, the agronomist of Vivai Lanari has moved other specifications required to the greenhouses provided by Idromeccanica Lucchini. In particular, the demand was for greater greenhouse air conditioning and better sunlight management. To meet these demands, the greenhouses were equipped with diffused light sheeting, model PATIDILITE E 200 my, which were placed on the sides, fronts and roof of the greenhouse. The sheets placed on the sides and fronts can be wrapped laterally up to the tie rod, while the one on the roof can be rolled up with a manual reducer tubular 3.00 m that allows handling without the use of stairs. In this way greenhouses can take advantage of sunlight even in winter for a longer-lasting production. Generally the cloth is rolled and stretched twice a year, but can be moved easily whenever the weather conditions require it.

From design to installation
The customer was particularly satisfied by the ability of Idromeccanica Lucchini to find a solution to any specific request for the protection of such delicate crops and plants. Idromeccanica Lucchini has convinced both for the commercial part and for the design and for the working phase of the greenhouse plant that was completed between the months of March and May. The presence of steep gradients on the ground has made more complex the work of Lucchini technicians who, despite this, were able to lay the greenhouses to the state of the art. The close collaboration with the agronomist of Vivai Lanari has contributed to the success of the new plant.
